Senator Smart Adeyemi (CON) set to distribute over 200 Millions naira empowerment program soon.
Distinguished Senator Smart Adeyemi (CON) who represented the good people of Kogi west senatorial district at the 6th, 7th and 9th Senate, set to empower people across Kogi west with cars, keke napep, Modern hospital equipments include beds, mattresses from United States of America will equally be distributed among general hospitals/primary health care center in Kogi west with other valuable items and cash worth over 200 million naira to share among various Association.
The empowerment committee which cut across the seven Local Government Areas of Kogi west met two days to discuss the modality for the smooth and easy disbursement.
While given his remark after much deliberation among members of the committee the chairman of the committee Hon Nathaniel Taiwo Ojo, former Executive Chairman of Kabba-Bunu local government area, said the committee unanimously resolved that cash donations to some associations will be more appreciated as that will make more people to benefit from the program.
The committee, therefore suggest that some of the items like vehicles and Keke Napep can be disposed to raise more money, while the Senator add some fund and distribute such to the associations.
They further said instead for the items to be distributed will end in the hands of few people, who may in turn sell the valuables at a ridiculous rate, 3 times lower than the cost of the same goods in open market, stressing that such empowerment program will reduce unemployment in the community.
Further; the secretary of the committee Hon Sanni Dauda said the empowerments will capture the likes of market men and women, hairdresser, farmers, widow’s furnitures, okada riders and the unemployed Youths will also be part of the beneficiaries.
Other members of the committee are Hon Abdulrahman Ibrahim (Akabu) former APC vice chairman Kogi west, is the vice chairman of the committee.
While Hajiya Zainab koto serve as the woman leader of the committee, and other members are Chief Fehinti Dada, Kayode Oni, chief Taiye Ikupeleye
