Senator Sunday Karimi Launches Tinubu Support Group Bursary Award for East and Central Senatorial Students in Tertiary Institutions

Senator Sunday Steve Karimi, representing Kogi West Senatorial District and Chairman of Senate Services, has launched the Tinubu Support Group Bursary Award for students in the East and Central Senatorial Districts of Kogi State.

Over 1,610 students in tertiary institutions are set to benefit from this initiative.

According to a statement released by his media office in Abuja, Senator Karimi said the bursary award aims to support the educational pursuits of students from the two senatorial districts.

The initiative aligns with President Bola Tinubu’s efforts to improve the nation’s education sector.

Senator Karimi stated, “As a senator, I am committed to supporting the educational development of our students. This scholarship scheme is my contribution to the President’s agenda to enhance education in our country. Through the Tinubu Support Group, we aim to provide financial assistance to students in public tertiary institutions, enabling them to pursue their studies without undue financial burden.”

The senator’s initiative is expected to benefit students in various public tertiary institutions in the East and Central Senatorial Districts of Kogi State, providing them with financial support to achieve their academic goals and contribute to the development of the state.

“The bursary application window opens from August 1st to August 31st, 2025. Eligible students are encouraged to visit the official website of the Senator to apply:

This initiative is a continuation of Senator Karimi’s consistent efforts to support academic excellence, reduce the burden on struggling students, and build a more enlightened society through purposeful investment in the education sector.

It will be recalled that last year, the senator launched a ₦100 million bursary award for 1,000 students of Kogi West origin, with each beneficiary receiving ₦100,000.

The second edition has now been announced, and prospective beneficiaries can register through the available online portal.

Notably, this year, Senator Karimi has expanded the scope of the beneficiaries to include the two other senatorial districts, marking a new dimension in his commitment to supporting education across Kogi State, stressing that each beneficiaries will get #100,000
