Senator Sunday Karimi Praises President Tinubu’s Appointment of Prof. Joash Amupitan as INEC Chair

Abuja – Senator Sunday Karimi representing Kogi West Senatorial District, has expressed his heartfelt appreciation to President Bola Tinubu and his colleagues for the nomination and confirmation of Prof. Joash Amupitan as the new Chairman of the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC).

In an emotional speech made during the plenary session, Karimi described the appointment as a historic milestone, noting that it is the first time someone from the North Central region of Nigeria has been nominated to lead INEC.

He praised President Tinubu’s commitment to inclusivity and regional representation.

“This is a proud moment for the North Central region,” Karimi said, commending Amupitan’s credentials and qualifications for the role.

He thanked his colleagues for supporting Amupitan’s nomination and confirmation, emphasizing the significance of this appointment for Nigeria’s electoral process.

He noted that Prof Amupitan will never disappoint Nigerians, promising that no one will put him under any pressure to work contrary to his beliefs and the integrity of his good records.

Karimi’s speech highlights the importance of regional representation in Nigeria’s governance structure, and Prof. Amupitan’s appointment is seen as a step towards greater inclusivity in the country’s leadership.
