Senior Advocate of Nigeria, Barr. Kolade Obafemi Clinches Ekinrin-Adde Lifetime Achievement Award

A Senior Advocate of Nigeria (SAN), Barrister Moses Kolade Obafemi, has been named among the distinguished sons and daughters of Ekinrin-Adde to receive the prestigious Lifetime Achievement Award at the forthcoming Ekinrin-Adde Community Development Association (EACDA) Awards-Night.

The announcement was made by the National Publicity Secretary of EACDA, Pastor Emmanuel Ajibola Ogungbuyi, who stated that the honour is in recognition of Barrister Obafemi’s remarkable accomplishments in the legal profession and his outstanding representation of Ekinrin-Adde on the national stage.

According to the statement, the conferment of the Lifetime Achievement Award on the legal luminary reflects the community’s appreciation of his decades of dedication, professional excellence, integrity, and contributions to the advancement of the legal profession in Nigeria.

Moses Kolade Obafemi, SAN, was born on 9 July 1963 in Ekinrin-Adde, Ijumu Local Government Area of Kogi State.

He attended Ahmadu Bello University, Zaria, where he obtained a Bachelor of Laws (LL.B) Degree with Second Class Honours (Upper Division) in 1987. He subsequently proceeded to the Nigerian Law School and successfully completed his legal training in 1988. He was called to the Nigerian Bar on 3 November 1988.

Following his call to the Bar, he commenced his legal career with the law firm of Abiola A. Oshodi & Co. in 1988. He later joined the prestigious law firm of C. O. Toyin Pinheiro & Co., where he distinguished himself through dedication, professionalism, and legal excellence, eventually rising to the position of Partner in 2014.

Over the course of his legal career, Barrister Obafemi has acquired extensive experience in litigation and capital market operations, earning a reputation as a highly skilled and accomplished legal practitioner.

His commitment to the legal profession and his outstanding contributions to legal practice in Nigeria culminated in his elevation to the rank of Senior Advocate of Nigeria (SAN), the highest distinction in the Nigerian legal profession, on 30 September 2024.

A firm believer in continuous professional development, he has attended numerous Bar Conferences and professional engagements both within Nigeria and internationally. He is a member of the Nigerian Bar Association (NBA) and the International Bar Association (IBA).

Pastor Ogungbuyi noted that Barrister Obafemi’s professional accomplishments, humility, and dedication to excellence have made him a source of pride to Ekinrin-Adde and an inspiration to younger generations aspiring to attain greatness in their chosen careers.

He added that the award is reserved for eminent sons and daughters of the community whose lives and achievements have brought honour, recognition, and lasting value to Ekinrin-Adde through exceptional service and professional distinction.

Barrister Obafemi is happily married to Mrs. Funmilayo Margaret Obafemi, and their union is blessed with three children. Their daughter, Damilola Linda Obafemi, has also distinguished herself in the legal profession, qualifying as a legal practitioner in Nigeria and currently practising as a Solicitor in England and Wales.

The EACDA Awards Night is one of the major highlights of the annual Ekinrin-Adde Day celebration and serves as a platform for recognising outstanding individuals whose contributions have positively impacted the community, the nation, and humanity at large.
