Stakeholders Brainstorm Solutions to Combat Insecurity in Okunland
Stakeholders from Okunland, comprising members of the All Progressives Congress, gathered at the Harris Hotel in Abuja’s Wuye district to address the rising insecurity in the region.
The meeting, convened by Commander Jerry Omodara (rtd), State Security Adviser, aimed to find lasting solutions to kidnapping, killing, banditry, and terrorist activities plaguing Okunland.
Key Resolutions
1. Community Security, Ensuring a safe environment for residents.
2. Funding for Security, Generating funds to combat insecurity.
3. Collaboration with Governments: Seeking state government support after utilizing internal resources.
4. Empowering Security Personnel: Equipping security personnel in each Local Government Area with necessary tools.
5. Committee Establishment: Setting up committees to drive the platform’s activities and implement resolutions.
The stakeholders, led by Otunba Lanre Ipinmisho, former Director-General of the National Drug Law Enforcement Agency (NDLEA), pledged to work with the government and other stakeholders to tackle insecurity.
They aim to promote unity, security, and development in Okunland through collective effort.
These resolutions demonstrate the community leaders’ commitment to creating a safer and more developed community. By working together, they hope to address the region’s pressing issues and improve the lives of residents.
