Steel Development Minister, Prince Shuaibu Abubakar Audu bags Democracy Newsline Newspaper Award as the Honourable Minister of the Year
Steel Development Minister, Prince Shuaibu Abubakar Audu, was awarded the title of Honourable Minister of the Year, 2024 by Democracy Newsline Newspaper.

The award ceremony took place on October 9th, 2024 at the Banquet Hall of the Merit House Maitama, Abuja, marking the media outfit’s fourteenth anniversary and Nigeria’s sixty-fourth year of political independence.
Chief Olugbemi Femi, the Chairman and Chief Executive Officer of Michabifem Ventures Limited, praised the Minister for his outstanding leadership in managing the country’s steel sector, particularly in the efforts to revive the Ajaokuta steel plant after 40 years.
He called on President Bola Tinubu, state governors, and other leaders to provide responsible and responsive governance to address Nigeria’s current economic challenges.
Additionally, papers were presented on the role of social media in the development of the agriculture sector and Nigeria’s political landscape. The event also recognized other individuals and organizations for their exceptional contributions.
In his acceptance speech, the Minister reassured Nigerians of President Bola Tinubu’s commitment to reviving the Ajaokuta steel plant and promised to spare no effort in making it operational.
Other notable recipients of special recognition awards included political leaders, public servants, and professionals from various sectors.
