STRENGTHENING INTER-AGENCY COLLABORATION: CP DANTAWAYE RECEIVES NEW KOGI STATE COMPTROLLER OF IMMIGRATION, STATE COORDINATOR OF NESREA AND HARPS ON SYNERGY AS A TOOL FOR IMPROVED SECURITY IN KOGI STATE
The Commissioner of Police, Kogi State Command, CP Miller G. Dantawaye, psc received the newly deployed Comptroller of Immigration Service, Kogi state command, Mr Emmanuel Jenewari Tariah on a courtesy visit to the command headquarters, Lokoja. The visit aims to strengthen collaboration, enhance cooperation on migration management and internal security.
In his remarks, the new comptroller stated that he was at the command to formalize and improve partnership on shared mandates. Noting that no agency can do it alone, hence the visit is to promote cordial relationship between the Nigeria Police Force and the Immigration Service in Kogi State.
He commended the CP and the management team for the pivotal role of the Nigeria Police Force in crime prevention and detention, assured that his command will continue to partner with the Kogi police command to carry out strategic operations to identify foreigners who have no business to be in the state.
In his response, CP Dantawaye assured of his unwavering commitment to foster cordial and effective relationship between the Nigeria Police Force and the Nigerian Immigration Service re-emphasizing the importance of collaboration between security agencies.
He further assured of improved collaboration and reaffirming strategic partnership in ensuring adequate security of lives and property in the state.
The visit is a reaffirmation of commitment to strategic partnership, and mutual agreement on operations to manage migration and secure Kogi state effectively.
In another development, the Commissioner of Police received the state coordinator, National Environmental Standards and Regulations Enforcement Agency (NESREA), Dr Pappy Ajogu on a courtesy visit.
In his remarks, the NESREA state coordinator stated that NESREA has the mandate of ensuring a cleaner and healthier environment by enforcing environmental regulations and standards across Kogi state. He further disclosed that NESREA is empowered to enforce compliance with the provisions of international agreements, protocols, conventions and treaties on the environment. Hence the need for security collaboration with the police for effective enforcement.
In his response, CP Dantawaye assured the NESREA state coordinator of the command’s unwavering commitment to collaborate with NESREA to achieve its mandates of ensuring a cleaner and healthier environment across Kogi state.
