Sub Lt Oloruntoba Ibitoye Bags Democracy Newsline Newspaper Community Development Award
Ijumu/Okun-born Second Lieutenant Oloruntoba Ibitoye of the Ohio Military Reserve, United States of America Army, has been recognized with the 2025 Democracy Newsline Newspaper Community Development Award.
According to Elder Olalekan Aiyenigba, Executive Editor of Democracy Newsline Newspaper, Second Lieutenant Oloruntoba’s outstanding contributions to his community of origin, despite being based in the United States, have earned him this well-deserved recognition.
He noted that the award of recognition will be bestowed on him during the upcoming 15th Public Lecture and Award Ceremony, scheduled to hold on August 26, 2025, at the National Merit House in Abuja. The event will commence with a red carpet ceremony at 5 pm, followed by the main program at 6 pm, and a dinner program.

Democracy Newsline Newspaper is organizing its 15th edition of the public lecture and awards ceremony with the theme “Promoting Participatory Democracy and Good Governance.”
This event aims to bring together prominent personalities, award winners, and stakeholders to discuss and promote good governance in Nigeria.
During the ceremony, a N100 million fund will be launched to procure podcast studio equipment and establish Democracy Newsline Online Television station
