Sustaining Progress: Why Yagba Must Consolidate on Proven Leadership

By David Ojo

Politics, at its very core, is not merely about occupying office—it is about purpose. It is about liberating the people, empowering communities, providing welfare, and creating a lasting legacy through socio-economic development, education, and security. True leadership transcends party lines and personal ambition; it is measured by impact, consistency, and the ability to improve lives.

In a system like ours, experience within the National Assembly is not just an advantage—it is a powerful tool. The longer a representative serves with purpose and integrity, the greater their capacity to attract development, influence policy, and deliver meaningful dividends of democracy to their people.

This is why the representation of Elder Leke Abejide stands out as exemplary. He has not only redefined what it means to represent the Yagba Federal Constituency, but he has also raised the bar for quality leadership. His tenure has been marked by visible progress, strategic empowerment, and a clear commitment to the welfare of his constituents. Simply put, he has changed the trajectory of representation in Yagba land.

Bashorun MD Eseyin, the Kogi West Senatorial Candidate in the 2023 general election, has openly endorsed Elder Abejide for re-election. Known for his principled stance, Eseyin emphasizes that he does not speak lightly or without conviction. His support is grounded in careful observation and a firm belief in performance-driven leadership.

Echoing this sentiment, the 2022 Accord Presidential Aspirant has also noted that if the people of Yagba wish to continue enjoying the current pace of development and effective representation, then continuity is essential. Progress, after all, is best sustained when built on a solid and proven foundation.

Elder Abejide has set a pace that is not only commendable but also challenging for any newcomer to match. His achievements speak louder than promises, and his track record offers reassurance in a political landscape often filled with uncertainty.

The logic is simple: the more years a committed representative spends in the National Assembly, the stronger their influence, the deeper their network, and the greater their ability to deliver tangible benefits back home. Continuity, in this case, is not stagnation—it is strategic progress.

For the people of Yagba, the path forward is clear. Supporting a leader who has consistently delivered is not just a political decision; it is a collective investment in sustained growth and shared prosperity.

Elder Leke Abejide’s work speaks for itself. And for Yagba land, the best is yet to come.
