On a momentous day in the history of Sumaila, the Premier Convocation of Al-Istiqama University was held with grandeur and pride.

This remarkable institution, established by the esteemed and visionary leader, Distinguished Suleiman Abdurrahman Kawu Sumaila, has not only redefined the educational landscape of the region but has also played a pivotal role in transforming Sumaila town and its surrounding Local Government Area (LGA) into an urban hub.

Al-Istiqama University is a symbol of progress, meeting international academic standards while remaining deeply rooted in the values of discipline, religion, and culture.

The University’s commitment to excellence has made it a beacon of hope for many, offering employment opportunities for hundreds of indigenes and providing affordable educational pathways for young minds in Sumaila and beyond.

The Convocation ceremony itself was a sight to behold. From early morning, Sumaila’s streets were filled with students, their families, and distinguished guests, all gathering to celebrate this significant achievement.

The presence of prominent figures from all walks of life further highlighted the importance of the event.

Notable attendees included His Excellency, Dr. Abdullahi Umar Ganduje, National APC Chairman, His Excellency, the Deputy President of the Senate, Dr. Barau I. Jibrin, CFR, and His Excellency, Distinguished Aminu Tambuwal, among others.

Their attendance was a testament to the deep respect and admiration for the University’s founder and his commitment to the development of the region.

The convocation itself was a celebration of the hard work and dedication of the graduates.

The graduates stood tall, proud of the education and experiences they had gained at Al-Istiqama University.

The atmosphere was filled with excitement and pride as the graduates received their degrees, with many acknowledging the immense contribution of Senator Kawu Sumaila in making their dreams a reality.
