Tinubu Will Win With a Landslide In Kogi – Yahaya Bello

By Abah Benjamin Eneojoh
Okene, Kogi State
October 2, 2026

The former Governor of Kogi State and All Progressives Congress (APC) candidate for Kogi Central Senatorial District, His Excellency Alhaji Yahaya Adoza Bello, has assured the people of Kogi Kogi central that President Bola Ahmed Tinubu would win in Kogi State with a landslide, declaring that the overwhelming reception accorded him by the people during his homecoming has further reaffirmed his confidence in the continued strength of the APC across Kogi State.

Speaking amid a massive gathering of supporters who turned out to welcome him home, Bello said he had never doubted the loyalty and support of his people, expressing confidence that the people of Kogi Central remained firmly aligned with the APC and its leadership.

“I have never doubted that my people are with me 100 per cent. I have never doubted that my people are supporting APC 100 per cent,” Bello said, stressing that the reception was a demonstration of the deep bond between him and the people he served as governor.

The former governor also expressed confidence in the continued support of the people for President Bola Ahmed Tinubu and the administration of Governor Ahmed Usman Ododo, saying the people of Kogi State understood the developmental direction of the APC-led administrations at the federal and state levels.

Bello, who is seeking to represent Kogi Central in the Senate, said he was equally confident that the electorate would support him and other APC candidates because, according to him, the party had demonstrated its commitment to infrastructure development and the delivery of democratic dividends to the people.

He said the massive turnout during his homecoming was particularly significant because, in his view, it was not induced but a spontaneous expression of affection and solidarity from the people.

“It is organic. It is inborn, it is inherent, it is in our DNA, and I sincerely appreciate them,” Bello declared, while thanking the people for the love and affection displayed during the homecoming.

The former governor used the occasion to appreciate God Almighty, the APC, President Bola Ahmed Tinubu, Governor Ahmed Usman Ododo and members of the party at all levels for their support, describing the gathering as a strong indication of the party’s political structure and grassroots presence in the state.

Bello further assured President Tinubu that the APC would receive strong support in Kogi State, particularly in Kogi Central, declaring that he considered the forthcoming election effectively settled in favour of the party.

“I want to assure Mr President that the Kogi State election, and the election of Kogi Central in particular, is as good as done 100 per cent for APC,” he said.

Earlier, the former Kogi State APC Chairman, Hon. Abdullahi Bello, who spoke with journalists during the homecoming, described the gathering as a significant demonstration of the people’s attachment to the former governor.

He said the people had come out in large numbers to welcome a leader whom they credited with having made significant contributions to the development and political mobilisation of the state.

“This is the homecoming of a leader that liberated the whole Ebira, and we all turned out to welcome him. It is not an easy thing,” the former APC chairman said, as he highlighted the enthusiasm surrounding Bello’s return.
