TORRENTS OF TRIBUTE AS 25TH MEMORIAL ANNIVERSARY OF LATE DR. ACHEMA HOLDS.

The noble virtue of Late Dr. Stephen Makoji Achema was extolled as Well-meaning Nigerians from all walks of life , particularly those from the Igala nation of the Kogi east Senatorial District, assembled at the Shehu Musa Yar’adua event Center, Abuja, Monday November 25th, 2024 , to mark the 25th Memorial anniversary of his demise, a ceremony that saw attendees paying glowing tributes to late Achema for his indelible legacies in the sands of history.

Some of the Dignitaries who graced the ceremony among others were , Hon. Shaibu Audu, the Minister of Steel Development,a former Minister for Information and National orientation and a Chieftain of the People’s Democratic party (PDP) Professor Jerry Gana, former Governor of Kogi State, Idris wada, Hon. Halims Abdullahi, the Member representing Ankpa/Olamaboro /Omala federal Constituency, Hon. David Zacharias, the Member representing Idah/Igalamela/Ofu/ Ibaji federal Constituency, Hon. Goodman Akwu, a former Kogi Governorship aspiration on the platform of the defunct Action Congress of Nigeria (ACN) and other family members friends and political associates of the man who was regarded as an Igala Nationalist due to his activism for the unity and development of the Igala nation when he was alive.

In his glowing tribute to the late political icon , Professor Jerry Gana who was the quest speaker at the ceremony,described late Achema as a friend, a reliable and dependable political allie whose loyalty was never in question at any point in time.

He eulogized Achema of blessed memory for his political activism which according to him led to the enthronement of Civil rule in Nigeria , adding that his Contributions to party politics and democratic governance in Nigerian was legendary.

Prof. Gana urged Nigerians particularly politicians from the Igala extraction to emulate Dr Achema’ s political trajectory for the development of Kogi State and the entire Igala nation, while also calling on the Citizens of the state to unite and forge a common front for the Peace and Progress of their domain.

Hon. Halims Abdullahi the Member representing Ankpa/ Olamaboro/ Omala federal Constituency in the Green Chambers of the National Assembly and his Idah/Igalamela/ Ofu/Ibaji federal Constituency Counterpart, Hon. David Zacharias in their Separate remarks, described late Dr. Achema as one of the finest politician that has ever bestrode the Igala nation, adding that the political legacy of the late icon would continue to inspire generations of politician yet unborn, particularly, his political sportsmanship which was driven by his undivided love for his people, the duo said.

Others who spoke exclusively to our Correspondent, praised the late politician for his immense Contributions to the Socio-Political and educational development of the Igala nation, stressing that the live of Late Dr.Stephen Makoji Achema epitomizes Selflessness, local patriotism, nationalism and above all a unifier of the Igala people.
