The Director General of the Transformation Support Initiative (TSI), Dame Lucy Akumabor Saleh, has paid a condolence visit to the National Chairman of the All Progressives Congress (APC), Prof. Nentawe Yilwatda, following the passing of his beloved mother, Mama Lydia Yilwatda.
Mama Lydia passed away on Sunday morning, August 17, 2025, at the University of Jos Teaching Hospital.
On Tuesday, August 19, 2025, Dame Lucy, accompanied by the National Coordinators of TSI, visited the Abuja residence of the APC National Chairman to commiserate with him and his family during this period of mourning.
In her message of condolence, Dame Lucy expressed heartfelt sympathy to Prof. Yilwatda, urging him to take solace in the noble and virtuous life Mama Lydia lived. She described the late matriarch as a woman of deep faith in God, remarkable strength, and selfless service to humanity.
The TSI Director-General further remarked that though no words could truly ease the grief of such a loss, Prof. Yilwatda should draw strength from his mother’s enduring legacy of prayer, counsel, and moral guidance. She noted that her passing was not only a personal loss to the family but also to the wider society that benefitted from her wisdom and compassion.
Dame Lucy described Mama Lydia’s demise as a huge vacuum, particularly at a time when her advice and prayers would have been of immense support to her son, who bears the weight of national leadership.
Others in the entourage included the TSI Organizing Secretary, Mrs. Philips, Mr. Ezra Bowen, Mr. Emmanuel Osade, and Ms. Laura. Together, they prayed for the Almighty God to grant Prof. Yilwatda and the entire family the strength to bear the irreparable loss.
