Ughievwen Professionals Forum Calls On Governor Oborevwori to Complete Jeremi–Okwagbe–Egbo–Ideh Road, Urges Remobilization of Okwagbe–Otutuama–Ophorigbala Road Contractor

The Ughievwen Professionals Forum, with chapters in Lagos, Abuja and Asaba, has passionately appealed to the Governor of Delta State, Sheriff Oborevwori, to urgently facilitate the completion of the long-abandoned Jeremi–Okwagbe–Egbo–Ideh Road, describing the project as a critical infrastructure needed to unlock economic growth and social development across communities in Ughievwen Kingdom, Ughelli South Local Government Area of the state.
Speaking on behalf of the Forum, the President, Dr. Israel E. Kwode, commended Governor Oborevwori for the remarkable infrastructural development being witnessed across many urban centers in Delta State under the administration’s MORE Agenda, noting that the governor has demonstrated clear commitment to delivering democratic dividends to the people.
Dr. Kwode, however, emphasized that while the urban renewal drive under the MORE Agenda has been widely applauded across the state, there is an urgent need for the benefits of development to extend more robustly to rural communities, particularly in Ughievwen Kingdom where several key road projects remain either abandoned or progressing slowly.
According to him, the Jeremi–Okwagbe–Egbo–Ideh Road is of immense importance to the people as it serves as a major corridor linking agrarian communities and facilitating the transportation of farm produce to urban markets. He noted that completing the road would drastically improve mobility, stimulate commerce, and enhance the living standards of residents across the kingdom.
The Forum also appealed to Governor Oborevwori to urgently remobilize the contractor handling the Okwagbe–Otutuama–Ophorigbala Road, which they lamented has suffered prolonged abandonment despite its strategic value to communities that rely heavily on the road for transportation and economic activities.
Dr. Kwode further listed other critical infrastructural projects requiring immediate government intervention, including the Eyara–Imode–Agbaghare Road, the Ayagha–Oginibo Road, and the Oginibo–lghroku–Ohwahwa Road, stressing that the completion of these roads would open up more rural settlements, improve agricultural productivity, and strengthen economic integration within the area.
In addition to road infrastructure, the Ughievwen Professionals Forum, through its President Dr. Israel E. Kwode, also called on the state government to expedite the construction of the proposed Okwagbe Market, noting that the project would serve as a major commercial hub for traders, farmers, and artisans within Ughievwen Kingdom and neighboring communities.
While reiterating their strong support for Governor Oborevwori’s administration and the developmental philosophy of the MORE Agenda, Dr. Kwode expressed confidence that the governor would give urgent attention to these projects. He assured that their completion would significantly deepen the impact of government policies and bring meaningful development to the rural communities of Ughievwen Kingdom.
