Unilorin Association celebrated 16 First Class graduates and 23 distinguished alumni .

The Alumni Association of the University of Ilorin has celebrated 16 best graduating students of Class 2024 of the university at its maiden award ceremony and honours luncheon.
Similarly, 23 past alumni of the university, including the special assistant (Media) to the governor of Lagos state, Gboyega Rasaq Akoshile and vice chancellor of the university, Professor Wahab Egbewole, were honoured.
National president of the association, Professor Abdulrazaq Kilani said the event was organised to celebrate the best graduating students who have distinguished themselves and to also remind the identified alumni of the need to give back to their alma mater.
“We are honouring some of our valued alumni today because of their contributions to the society with a view to reminding them that Unilorin is proud of their accomplishments. Unilorin is monitoring your progress and the giant strides you are making and to remind you that it is time to give back to our Alma mater as valued Alumni,” he said.
Kilani announced plans by the association to embark on three projects namely; the re- modelling of alumni secretariat, construction of a male hostel to complement existing one and alunmni guest house that will also provide accommodation to visitors to the school.
Speaking with journalists, Akoshile urged the new graduating students to leverage the digital skills they acquired while in school to make a difference in their various fields of endeavours where they might find themselves in the future.
Egbewole on his part charged the honouree alumni and the new graduates to harness best opportunities available in their various disciplines to make their alma mater great.
