Unity and Development Summit, ODI converge on Kabba today to discuss the forward for Okunland

The Okun Development Initiative (ODI) is hosting a Unity and Development Summit in Kabba starting today, May 30 and 31st 2025, to discuss the future of Okunland.

The gathering aims to bring together Okun sons and daughters to deliberate on issues affecting the region and find collective solutions.

The summit with the Theme:”Okun Unity: The Power of One Voice, the Strength of Many Hands” is meant
to promote unity and development in Okunland, addressing many challenges confronting the area which is not limited to economic growth, security, infrastructure deficit and social amenities.

Kogi State Governor, Ahmed Usman Ododo is expected to be the Special Guest of Honor while the Vice Chancellor of the Federal University, Lokoja, Professor Yemi Akinwumi will be the Guest Speaker.

The Obaro of Kabba and Chairman , Okun Area Traditional Council, His Royal Majesty, Oba Solomon Dele Owoniyi will be the royal father at the event while the President-General of the Okun Development Association (ODA), Ambassador Rotimi Akenson will be the father of the day.

The summit is expected to provide a platform for stakeholders to share ideas, identify solutions, and work towards a brighter future for Okunland.

With the region facing security concerns and economic challenges, this gathering is a significant step towards promoting unity and development.
