Unity and Development Take Center Stage as Kogi West Leaders Meet
The former Deputy Governor of Kogi State, Architect Yomi Awoniyi, has convened a meeting of leaders and stakeholders from Kogi West to brainstorm on the way forward for the district ahead of the 2027 political despensation.
The meeting, led by Arc. Yomi Awoniyi, was attended by critical stakeholders, including Prince Olushola Akanmode, Hon Duro Meseko, Chief Abiodun Ojo, Chief Samuel Abeneme, former SDP Deputy Governor, Commander Jerry Omodara (rtd), Rt Hon Imam Alfa, Senator Ado Shuiabu and Elder Adebanji Jimoh
The meeting emphasized the importance of unity and collective purpose in driving the region’s development.
The gathering, which saw the attendance of prominent stakeholders, aimed to strengthen cohesion among members and promote a sense of shared responsibility.
In a statement, attendees praised the efforts of Governor Usman Ododo for his humility, openness to engagement, and commitment to development across the state.

“His Excellency’s leadership has set a positive tone for the state, and we commend his dedication to improving the lives of all citizens,” the statement read.
The meeting also saw an appeal for Yagba federal constituency to be allowed to complete a second term of eight years in the senate before handing over to Lokoja/Kogi federal constituency.
The leaders emphasized that the meeting was a testament to their commitment to unity, constructive engagement, and support for the state’s development direction.
The objective is to ensure that the public narrative reflects these values, promoting a sense of togetherness and progress in Kogi State.
