“Uttam SucroTech International” TO INVEST IN HIGH QUALITY AGRO TECHNOLOGY & VARIETY SUGARCANE IN NIGER STATE

The Farmer Governor of Niger State Muhammad Umaru Bago’s recent high-powered delegation to woe investors in Brazil has started to yield a positive result, as Uttam SucroTech International has indicated interest to invest heavily on the production, refining and distilling of sugarcane in Niger State.

The Uttam SucroTech International delegation, led by Bharat Adlakha, paid the State Government a corporate visit of it intention to invest in sugarcane plantation, production and refining.

The delegation noted that it will carry out an assessments and feasibility study of Niger State area of potential sugarcane topography in order to ascertain it viability and Economic impact to the State’s agricultural development.

Receiving the delegation on behalf of the Executive Governor of the State,Farmer Umaru Mohammed Bago, the Deputy Governor, Comrade Yakubu Garba, reaffirmed Niger State Government commitment in transforming the State into an agricultural hub in Nigeria, adding that the Farmer Governor Muhammad Umaru Bago’s tour of Brazil is generating interest across the globe. Saying _”Uttam SucroTech International has been to the State studying the soil and climate primarily to invest in sugarcane production” “we know apart from sugarcane production other byproduct can also be explored”._ The Deputy Governor said _”samples will be taken to laboratory for analysis, data will be provided for the type of sugar to produce” “the company indicated interest of 40,000 hectares of land in Shiroro alone and we are looking at other places”._

The Governor, assured the delegation of the State government’s support, cooperation and commitment to making the project a reality.

Also, Professor Mohammed Kuta Yahaya, stated that the delegation’s visit to the State is a game changer in the agricultural development of the State and Nigeria, describing the intention of the investment as important in transforming subsistence farming of the country into more mechanized adoption.

Professor kuta Yahaya Explained that the massive investment in 40,000 hectares of sugar plantation will create jobs and technology transfer, saying it will reduce foreign importation of sugar by local production and refining. Noting that it will earn the State economic growth and foreign currency, boosting the State’s Government revenue.
