“We will collaborate with relevant groups for peaceful, united Kogi State,” stated Comrade Joel to ICDA Excos
The Kogi State Government is set to fraternize with relevant interest groups in the state to work for the continued peace and unity of the people.
The state Deputy Governor Comrade Joel Salifu stated this while addressing officials of Igala Cultural Development Association (ICDA) in his Office, today, in Lokoja.
The Deputy Governor congratulated the new executives of the Association for their victory in the election and charged them to promote unity and togetherness not only in Kogi East but in the state at large.
He maintained that the present administration will continue to partner with all relevant interest groups in the state for unity and development of the people.
He commended the Attah of Igala and President, Kogi State Council of Chiefs, His Royal Majesty, Alaji Mathew Opaluwa OgwucheAkpa, for his love and effort for the unity of the state, stressing that his passion for the togetherness and continued peace of his people is unprecedented.
Comrade Joel described Governor Ahmed Usman Ododo as a detribalized leader who’s love for the people of Igala kingdom is non negotiable.
He said the Governor is prepared to transform every part of the state and called on the stake holders to join hand with the state government to flush out criminals in Kogi East.
The Deputy Governor called on the sons and daughters of Igala extraction not to isolate themselves from the activities of the current administration in the state, adding that the current Governor is committed to serving a united people bound by love.
He stressed that the government will continue to partner and support the activities of the Igala Cultural Development Association, urging the people to shun sentiment for the progress of Igala nation.
Earlier in his opening remark, the Fomer Commissioner for Local Government and Chieftaincy Affairs in the state, Hon. Sadiq Ainoko Abubakar said they were in the office to congratulate Governor Ahmed Usman Ododo and his Deputy, Comrade Joel Salifu on their victory at the appeal court judgment, and as well to pledge their support for the present administration to succeed.
Ainoko described Governor Ahmed Usman Ododo as humane, noting that his actions as Governor of the state within the short time in office is a prove of his devine mandate given by the electorate of the state.
In his remarks the Chairman of the transition committee of ICDA, Pastor Ameh Adaji said ICDA is a socio cultural development Association with the vision to unite and promote the cultural development of the Igala People.
He pledged their unwavering loyalty to the government of Alhaji Ahmed Usman Ododo, stating that the Igala nation would not take the last seat in the quest for unity and development of Kogi State.
