Worker’s Day Celebration: Kogi Speaker Felicitates with Nigerian Workers, Urges them to redouble commitment in Service delivery to Nigeria

The Speaker of Kogi State House of Assembly and Candidate of the ruling All Progressives Congress in the yet to be concluded National Assembly Election in Kabba/Bunu/Ijumu Federal Constituency, Rt. Hon. (Prince) Olushola Matthew Kolawole has felicitated with and congratulated Nigerian Workers in general and Kogi State in particular on this year celebration of the international worker’s Day across the globe.

 

In a statement signed by his Chief Press Secretary, Olugbemi Femi and made available to newsmen in Lokoja, the Speaker said today being May 1st is the day set aside every year in commemoration of the giant contributions of the Nigerian workers towards effective and efficient service delivery, stressing that their efforts cannot be undermined in the growth of the country.

 

The Speaker said without the support of the civil servants, governments at various levels may not be able to achieve its mandate of providing various services across all sectors of the country to the people, hence he urged them to remain committed to excellent service delivery to the Nation.

 

He commended them for their steadfastness in giving the needed support to the outgoing administration of President Muhammadu Buhari, GCFR at the national level and Governor Yahaya Bello in Kogi state as without their input the giant strides recorded in infrastructural developments, security and fight against corruption might just be a day dream, stressing that the State House of Assembly under his watch has passed bills and motion that will continue to assist in their welfare and training and retraining on the job, noting that the passage of teacher’s retirement age act is one of the numerous bills passed.

 

He appealed to them not be tired in the delivery of their core mandate of rendering effective and efficient service to the nation and state and pointed out that governments will continue to prioritize their welfare in other to reposition the service.

He also urged them to extend same hands of fellowship to the incoming administrations at various levels of governance.
