Youths Group Commissions Library project in Shere East as part of 2025 New Celebration.
Shere District of Jos East Local Government Area was beehive of activities as dignitaries from all walks of life were present at Zakim Primary School, venue of the project commissioning.
Shere East, under Shere District of Jos East Local Government Area are well known with their rich Culture which being transmitting to the younger generations.
This was showcase at the event where a local wrestling was staged by the various youths of different age groups and children to the admiration of the invited guests.
This is known as Izan’an in Izere dialect. It was a sporting Competition among the people to showcase their skills and entertainment prowess.
Shere East is the Home of the Paramount Ruler of the Izere People worldwide,The Agbang Agwom Izere is the First Class Traditional Ruler well known and earned atmost loyalty among his subjects and beyond.
Agwom Izere is known for his proactiveness and Fostering unity among the entire Izere Nation and by extension, Plateau state.
The event was under the Chairmanship of Executive Chairman of Bokkos Local government, Hon. Amalau Samuel Amalau.
The Chairman Commended the Afizere Youth Movement of Shere East for sustaining the event and said Bokkos and Jos East and sharing similar Climate and weather conditions hence,he will continue to support the Youths and collaborate with the local Government Area for the progress of the two LGAs.
Teaming Dignitaries that graced the event includes, RT. Hon. Isah Madaki Ajiji who is the current deputy Speaker of the State House of Assembly,RT. Hon. Abok Nuhu Ayuba, former Speaker and Special adviser to the Governor on Legislative matters, the Executive Chairman of Jos East, Hon. Markus Nyam Husseini,Alias Kaunda,Hon. Monday Nyam Ajiya,Adviser to the Governor on Peace Building Agency, Secretary of Jos East, Hon. Joy Samuel Nyam,Barr Zachariah Awang, Comrade Azi Luka Itse,the National President of Afizere Youth Movement.
The Councillors of Jos East Local Government Area were led by the Majority leader.
The dignitaries all made handsome donations to stock the newly commissioned library that was constructed by the Youths and plan to construct a multi purpose hall to the tune of 25 million naira,The AYM President made a donation of Blocks for the hall while Hon. Monday Ajiya also pledged to supply them with Biology text books aside financial donation he made during the occasion.
In his speech presentation,the AYM Chairman,Shere East, Comrade Yakubu Pate salute the past EXCO of the Movement for laying a successful foundation of progress for them and that have paved way for accelerated development in Jankasa and entire Shere East.
Said they are planning to build a multi purpose hall inline with the collective interest of the Community which will gulps 25 million naira and it will be use for hosting events and other social gatherings towards ameliorating the challenges facing them during social events in the Community.
Inline with the Izere Culture and Tradition. The Agbang Agwom Izere,His Royal Highness, Reverend Dr.Isaac Azi Wakili said the Youths are the most valuable and great assets to every community.
The Royal father commended them and later Blessed the Izere Youths and dignitaries that were present.
Highlights of the event was the unique and admirable Izere Asharwa dancers from Asharwa International Jos North,Durbi,Fadan Fobur,Royal flutes(Agba) they are only meant for royalty and only accompany traditional rulers,Amata dancers this category of dance is perform by Women. The Local wrestling performance as well as farmers dancing performance.
These and many more presentations attracted guests from far and near to catch the glimpse of their eyes.
