Yusuf Ado Kibiya, emerges PDP chairman in Kano

The Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) has elected Yusuf Ado Kibiya as the new chairman of the party in Kano
Democracy Newsline reports that the election results were announced on Sunday by Halilu Abubakar Mazagani, chairman of the election committee from the party’s national headquarters.
Kibiya secured a landslide victory, garnering 3,964 votes to defeat his opponent, Nura Nuhu, who scored 244 votes.
Following the announcement, Barrister Abdul Fatah Muhammad administered the oath of office to the 39 newly elected state party leaders, including Hon. Kibiya.
The new leadership is expected to steer the PDP’s affairs in Kano, as the party works towards strengthening its presence and strategies ahead of upcoming political activities.
In his acceptance speech, Hon. Kibiya thanked party members for their confidence and promised to lead with transparency and inclusiveness, aiming to revitalize the PDP in Kano State.
Kibiya was a one-time commissioner for Agriculture under Senator Rabiu Kwankwaso between 1999-2003.
