2023:ICDA calls for violence free elections, appeals to Voters in Kogi East to come out en mass
Worried by the previous negative experience recorded during election in Kogi East, a group under the auspices of Igala Cultural and Development Association (ICDA), has appealed to voters to shun violent acts that would truncate the unity of Igala race.
The Chairman, ICDA Caretaker Committee Surgeon Commodre Ahmed Abdulai (rtd) made the appeal in a statement sent to DAILY POST on Wednesday.
Abdulai, while lamenting that past election in the Eastern axis of Kogi State had been greeted with violence, destruction of properties, appealed to voters in his region to turn out en mass with their Permanent Voters Cards, (PVCs) and vote for candidates that would change the fortunes of the Senatorial District and the Country.
This according to him is important, as the Country is facing a turbulent period where the right person should be elected if things must be better again.
“Vote wisely for the Candidates of their choice taking into consideration the Campaign promises in the manifestos and above all the Candidate’s character. Avoid anything that will vitiate or render useless your votes.
“Avoid violence throughout the duration and after the electoral processes because it will not serve anyone useful purposes. May Igala Kingdom prosper under the reign of His Royal Majesty Ata Igala Dr Mathew Alaji Opaluwa Oguche Akpa II” he stated.
