2027: Abinu Tours Lokoja I Wards, Seeks APC Stakeholders’ Backing for Assembly Seat
Ahead of the 2027 general elections, renowned philanthropist and community mobilizer, Ambassador Coach Gabriel Abinu, has commenced a ward-by-ward tour of Lokoja I State Constituency, seeking the support of critical stakeholders to secure the ticket for the Kogi State House of Assembly under the platform of the ruling All Progressives Congress (APC).
Abinu’s consultations took him to several wards across Lokoja Local Government Area, where he received a warm reception from party leaders and stakeholders, including a former Speaker of the 6th Kogi State House of Assembly and APC leader in Lokoja LGA, Rt. Hon. Umar Alfa Imam.
Speaking at his residence, Rt. Hon. Imam commended Abinu for his years of selfless service to humanity and openly pledged his support for his aspiration.
“Ambassador Coach Gabriel Abinu is a household name in Lokoja Local Government. His service to humanity speaks volumes,” Imam said. “This is a man who has dedicated his life to serving his people, irrespective of tribe, political affiliation or religion.”
The former Speaker noted that Abinu’s impact was evident long before his foray into partisan politics.
“Even without occupying any political office, he has touched countless lives, put smiles on the faces of many families and consistently supported government policies aimed at the development of our dear state,” he added.
Imam described Abinu as a credible and unifying figure, urging party members to rally behind his ambition.
“Without mincing words, and I believe I am speaking the minds of our people in Lokoja I State Constituency, Ambassador Coach Gabriel Abinu has done well and deserves our collective support ahead of the forthcoming Kogi State House of Assembly election,” he said.
“His presence in the 9th Assembly will be impactful and highly productive for the people of Lokoja I.”
Responding, Abinu expressed gratitude for the reception accorded him by party leaders and grassroots supporters, describing it as a renewed call to service.
“I am deeply impressed by the warmth and encouragement I received during my tour of the various wards in Lokoja I Local Government,” he said. “I never imagined that my modest contributions to serving my people were so widely noticed and appreciated.”
He reaffirmed his loyalty to the APC and pledged to work tirelessly for the success of the party at all levels.
“I remain fully committed to working for the re-election of Governor Ahmed Usman Ododo and President Bola Ahmed Tinubu,” Abinu stated. “If given the opportunity to serve, I will change the narrative for good in Lokoja I State Constituency.”
Abinu further promised people-oriented representation anchored on inclusiveness and development.
“Together with my constituents, we will write a positive chapter in the history of Lokoja I and Kogi State at large. I will not disappoint the confidence reposed in me,” he assured.
The ward tour, observers say, signals the commencement of strategic consultations ahead of the 2027 polls, as aspirants position themselves for party primaries and broader stakeholder engagement.
