The African Democratic Congress (ADC), Ijumu Local Government Chapter, has officially unveiled its Ward and Local Government Committees for Membership, Mobilization, Revalidation, and Registration (MMRR), in a strategic move to deepen grassroots participation ahead of the 2027 general elections.
The inauguration, which took place in Iyara, the headquarters of Ijumu Local Government, was led by a State MMRR Committee member, Otunba Prince (Hon.) Jambright Sumanu. In his address, he charged both Ward and Local Government committee leaders to swing into action immediately, stressing the importance of aggressive mobilization and proper registration of members across all communities.
Otunba Jambright also urged party faithful to embrace unity and tolerance, especially among members joining from different political backgrounds, including ADC, APC, PDP, AA, SDP, and others. He emphasized that only through collective effort and mutual understanding can the party grow stronger and achieve electoral success.
Speaking on behalf of the local government MMRR leadership, the Chairman, Mr. Ayo Adeleye, alongside the Secretary, Hon. S. O. Ibrahim, a former member of the Kogi State House of Assembly, assured members of their commitment to delivering on the committee’s mandate. They also expressed concern over the current state of governance, noting that democratic values must be protected and strengthened.
