Former Delta State Chairman of the All Progressives Congress (APC), Chief Cyril Ogodo, has thrown his political weight behind Senator Ede Dafinone, urging APC supporters and stakeholders across Delta Central Senatorial District to work for his re-election in 2027.

Ogodo described Dafinone’s representation at the National Assembly as deserving of continuity, arguing that the senator’s commitment to the people should be rewarded with another mandate.

He therefore appealed to party members, leaders and supporters to mobilise across the senatorial district in support of Dafinone.

“I am calling on all our supporters, leaders and members across Delta Central to stand firmly behind Senator Ede Dafinone. We must support continuity and ensure that the good work being done is sustained,” he said.

According to Ogodo, the 2027 election should be approached as an opportunity to strengthen the district’s representation rather than allow political differences to distract party members from their collective interest.

He maintained that elected representatives who demonstrate commitment to their constituents should be given the opportunity to continue their work.

“Politics is about service and representation. Where a representative has shown commitment to his people, we should give him the opportunity to continue. That is why I am urging my supporters to return Ede Dafinone,” he said.

Ogodo also sounded a strong note of caution against division within the APC, saying disunity could undermine the party’s prospects in the senatorial district.

“This is not the time for division. It is time for unity, loyalty and commitment to the progress of our senatorial district. I urge everyone who believes in our cause to support Senator Ede Dafinone,” he added.

Political activities are already gathering momentum in Delta Central as stakeholders and prospective aspirants begin positioning themselves ahead of the 2027 elections, with the senatorial contest expected to attract heightened political mobilisation.
