While addressing the participants, the Deputy House Leader thanked them for their swift response to his call despite a very short notice. Hon Abdullahi Ibrahim Halims outlined some of his achievements at the House of Representatives in the period under review and urged them to support his third term bid assuring the Stakeholders that he will make the Constituency much more proud than he is doing.

Earlier in a welcome address, the Vice Chancellor of the Kogi State University, Anyigba, Prof Salisu Usman Ogbo described Rep Halims as an indispensable Leader as far as Kogi State is concerned. He acknowledged how Omala stakeholders had earlier consulted with Ankpa for their support and appealed to them to be patient with Ankpa, especially that the bid is for Halims’ continuity.

Speaking, Prof Moses Atakpa extolled the performance of the Deputy House Leader, refreshed memories of previous support given to Omala Local Government Area by foremost Ankpa Political Leaders and called on the people of Olamaboro and Omala to rally round Hon Abdullahi Ibrahim Halims in the overall interest of the area.

Also speaking, the Executive Chairman of Olamaboro Local Government Area, Hon. Comr Ameh Williams described Rep Halims as a golden fish that has no hiding place adding that as a Local Government, Olamaboro is proud of Halims and will continue to support his ambitions.

In his vote of thanks, the Chairman of the Kogi State House of Assembly Committee on Finance, Hon. Akus Lawal extended his warm appreciation to the stakeholders for their wonderful support as he expressed confidence that Rep Halims will not relent in attracting dividends of democracy to the good people of Ankpa, Omala and Olamaboro Federal Constituency.

Among other critical stakeholders, the Director General of Protocol who doubles as a permanent Secretary, Alhaji Ibrahim Suleiman serving and aspiring House of Assembly Members and Local Government Chairmen drawn from the three Local Government Areas, State Government Appointees and Councillors were all in attendance as stakeholders took turns in commanding Rep Halims’ stewardship with different testimonials and affirmation to support his aspiration.

Highlight of the stakeholders’ parley was a unanimous resolution to not just support Rep Halims to emerge as the APC’s standard flag bearer but for a third term in office with a view to attract more dividends of democracy to the area. With the critical stakeholders’ endorsement, the party’s potential offer for first refusal to Principal Officers of the National Assembly and the Rep’s performance index, it is safe to say that his continuity at the National Assembly is highly guaranteed by the special grace of God.
