8,351 Patients benefit from Rt. Hon. James Faleke’s Free Medical Outreach in Kogi, as beneficiaries described him as a worthy son of Okunland

Over Eight thousand, three hundred and fifty one (8351) patients have benefited from Rt. Hon. James Abiodun Faleke’s Free medical outreach in Kogi State recently carried out to support individuals in Kabba/Bunu/Ijumu Federal Constituency who may not have the financial means to attend to their health challenges due to the economic situation in the country.




As part of his support to the health needs of the people within the communities under the coverage of the program, Hon Faleke has consistently assembled a team of medical experts from different fields on yearly basis to carry out the medical outreach in order to support the people in the area.
This year is no different as the team of medical personnel of Doctors-on- the-Move Africa led by the team leader, Dr Haruna Joseph Kigbu were in Ekinrin-Adde community and Specialist Hospital, Kabba to attend to as many people that presented themselves for the program.
According to information made available to our reporter in Kabba after 8 days of the program in the two centers by the team leader, Dr. Haruna Kigbu confirmed that GOPD recorded 2282 patients while 771 patients on eye consultation were also recorded in Ekinrin-Adde center. 524 eye glasses were given to patients who are in need after their screening, 86 came for ultrasound, 465 laboratory services were carried out, while 36 Gynes surgeries, 28 Cataract surgeries were carried out respectively.
In Kabba Specialist Hospital, 2627 were attended to at the GOPD section, while 1058 were around for eyes related issues and 666 eyes glasses were given to the people that need it. 114 came for ultrasound services while they carried out 764 laboratory services, 78 gynae surgeries, 42 cataract surgeries were carried out respectively. In total, Over eight thousand, three hundred and fifty one (8351) patients benefited from the medical outreach aside from other programs the lawmaker is doing in Kogi State.
Speaking to our reporter in Kabba, Dr Haruna Kigbu said the program was largely successful considering the number of patients attended to within the number of days the program was scheduled to hold in the two centers, pointing out that Hon. James Faleke needs to be commended for the laudable programs which have been consistent on a year basis.
He said Hon Faleke who believe in the welfare of his people and the saying that health is wealth, provided the opportunity for people who may not have the financial means of attending to their health challenges, adding that close to two hundred surgeries were carried out successfully free of charge and required drugs dispensed to assist the beneficiaries after they might have left for another location.
While some of the beneficiaries who could not hold their joy, eulogized the magnanimity of Hon James Abiodun Faleke’s gesture of always looking after their welfare, they pointed out that he is a worthy son of Okunland considering the monumental intervention projects he has been facilitating to the state.
Raphael Sunday who was one of the patients they carried surgery of appendix and hernia, said he will continue to be grateful to Hon Faleke for the kind gesture, pointing out that without the opportunity provided, he may have died because he did not have money for the surgery.
Just recently one hundred and ten youths (110) across the three Senatorial districts of the state were selected and trained in ICT program where tablet were given to each and everyone of them with token to facilitate their transportation to Kabba where the program was hosted, the training exposed the beneficiaries to the enormous opportunities in the ICT sector for them to be self employed through ICT.
In another development, about 170 farmers selected from across the state benefited from the training organized by National Productivity Center on cassava farming and hosted at Baptist High School, Ekinrin-Adde in Ijumu local government area to expose them to the modern way of farming through mechanize methods to improve their economic and also produce enough for the country and export their products.
He also facilitated the donation of thirty thousand pieces of sixty leaves exercise books, white board, white board maker, and other writing materials to Senior Secondary School in Ijumu Local Government Area through the National Board for Senior Secondary School Commission.
It will also be recalled that Rt. Hon. James Abiodun Faleke despite being elected to represent the people of Ikeja Federal Constituency at the National Assembly, has not lose sight or denied his state of origin, Kogi in facilitating programs and projects to the state especially construction of rural roads, water supply, electricity projects, solar panel street lighting, distribution of Empowerment materials, like Korope vehicles, motorcycles, freezers, grinding machines, sewing machines, employment opportunities etc.
