8th Day Prayer: Governor Ododo praised the late Admiral Ibrahim Ogohi (Rtd) as a nationalist and valuable son of the state, whose legacies inspires all.
Governor Ahmed Usman Ododo stated this when he was addressing numerous sympathizers, at the Eight days prayers for the former Chief of Defense Staff; Admiral Ibrahim Ogohi Rtd, held today in Okura Olafia, Dekina Local Government Area.
He noted that the late Defence Chief had contributed to the unity of the state and the country at large.
Represented by his Deputy, Comrade Joel Salifu, the Governor mentioned that the deceased had left behind legacies worth following.
Governor Ahmed Usman Ododo emphasized that the Igala nation, the state, and the country have lost a significant Nationalist at a crucial time when his vast experience is most needed.
Governor Ahmed Usman Ododo highlighted the tireless efforts of the deceased towards the progress of the state, noting that the establishment of Naval Base in Banda, Idah outpost, and the Naval School in Okura were all part of his legacy. He added that the Late Chief of Defense Staff, Admiral Ibrahim Ogohi, lived a fruitful life for his people and the entire country.
He described the deceased as a formidable force and an Icon whose legacy lives on.
Governor Ahmed Usman Ododo offered words of comfort to the bereaved family, reminding them that death is an inevitable part of life.
He pledged to support the family and the people of the area.
President Bola Ahmed Tinubu, represented by the Honorable Minister of Steel Development, Prince Shaibu Abubakar Audu, expressed that the wisdom of the late Chief of Defense Staff, Admiral Ibrahim Ogohi, will be greatly missed. He hailed him as a great nationalist and an ambassador of Igala Land.
The President expressed condolences to the Governor, the Government of Kogi State, and the Igala nation for their loss.
In his prayers, the Chief Imam of Okura Lafia, Mallam Musa Shaibu, urged Muslims to show love to their neighbors and be prepared for death.
He acknowledged the deceased’s contributions to Nigeria and his commendable service to humanity.
Former Chief of Naval Staff; Vice Admiral Jibrin Usman (Rtd), speaking on behalf of the family, described the late Chief of Defense Staff; Admiral Ibrahim Ogohi, as a compassionate individual. He expressed gratitude to President Bola Tinubu for sending the Minister of Steel Development; Prince Shaibu Abubakar Audu, Governor Ahmed Usman Ododo, represented by his Deputy; Comrade Joel Salifu, and other top Government officials for their support during their difficult time.
