A Victim of Inferno; Kogi Lady Cries for Help

A lady graduate, Anuoluwapo Justina Ogunmuyiwa, has cried for help from the government and the entire public over the fire accident that happened around the Cantonment Area in Lokoja on Monday, 3rd of February, 2025.

Narrating her ordeal, Ms. Ogunmuyiwa who hailed from Iyara, Ijumu Local Government of the State, who was part of the victims, she said the fire connected to about 9 apartments altogether in her house, calling on House of Assembly, House of Representatives, and Senators to come to their rescue.

She emphasized that the fire only spared their lives as no life was lost, but all properties burned to ashes.

Ms. Ogunmuyiwa, despite being a graduate, is a petty trader who sells soft drinks around Lokoja International Market. She said a high voltage of electricity is suspected to be the cause of the fire.

She confirmed that the Nigeria Police Force is aware and that the fire department of Kogi State government was on ground to minimise the damages, but the damages were done already.
