The International President of the Standup For Women Society,  Barr.  Deborah. A. Billie Nwogu, says despite the advancements, society against gender inequality,  inequality,  and empowerment of women and girls have continued to face unprecedented threats worldwide, from growing discrimination to weaker legal protections and reduced funding for programs that support women. She therefore called on government and corporate bodies to improve their support for women NGOs.

The Standup For Women Society issues a clarion call to governments, corporations, and individuals to Accelerate Action towards achieving gender equality and equity.

The urgency of this moment cannot be overstated and in solidarity with women and girls everywhere, the SWS reaffirms its commitment to protecting women’s rights, promoting empowerment, and ensuring equal opportunities.

They recognize that gender equity is not only a fundamental human right but also a cornerstone of sustainable development, peace, and prosperity.

Preventing Violence Against Women: We urge governments to adopt and implement legislation to end violence against women and girls, in all its forms.

Promoting Women’s Leadership: We must work towards achieving full and equal decision-making power for women, including through temporary special measures like gender quotas.

Bold policy changes to ensure equal pay, equal representation, and equal opportunities for women and girls.

Increased investment in programs and initiatives that support women’s empowerment, education, and health.

“And as we move forward, we draw inspiration from the countless women and girls who are leading the charge for change. ” Barr. Deborah added.

The SWS seeks Corporations to adopt inclusive practices, provide equal opportunities, and support women’s empowerment.
