AFON COMMUNITY PRAISES HOUSE OF REPS,GOV ABDUL RASAQ, EMIR, SAGAYA, IEDPU OVER BILL, SEEKING TO ESTABLISH FED COLL EDU AFON.
The People of Afon in Asa Local Government Area of Kwara State, say the tenth Legislature of the National Assembly, has made democracy more meaningful to Nigerians through quality legislation which enable Nigerians to have access to quality education and ensure even grassroot development, across the country.
An Afon Community Leader, Alhaji Yissa Amosa Alagbade made this observation on behalf of the entire people of Afon, while reacting to the just concluded Public Hearing on a Bill seeking to establish Federal College of Education Afon by the House of Representatives.
Alhaji Yissa Alagbade in a statement jointly signed by the Chairman of the Afon branch of Ilorin Emirate Descendants Progressive Union IEDPU, Alhaji Oba Folorunsho and Secretary, Mallam Ghazal Babatunde Sanni noted with delight that the tenth National Assembly has demonstrated greater commitment towards legislations that enhance the wellbeing of the rural dwellers, pointing out that the recent public hearing on the Bill seeking to establish Federal College of Education in Afon as a manifestation of the determination of the National Assembly towards increasing access of the downtroddens to quality education.
The statement then praised Governor AbdulRahman Abdulrasaq of Kwara State, the sponsored of the Bill and member representing Ilorin West/Asa Federal Constituency, Honourable Muktair Tolani Sagaya, the Emir of Ilorin, Alhaji Ibrahim Sulu-Gambari, the National Body of Ilorin Emirate Descendants Progressive Union, (IEDPU) and the chairman of Asa Local Government Council Alhaji Shehu Yahaya for their commitments towards ensuring the passage of the Bill.
The Community noted that all the elected Representatives from the area makes the wellbeing of their constituents the fulcrum of their statutory functions,pointing out that the entire people of Afon and and indeed Asa Local Government Area are in total support of the establishment of the tertiary institution in their locality.
While assuring the unflinching support of the people of Asa Local Government Area to the administration of President Bola Ahmed Tinubu and government of Governor AbdulRahman Abdulrasaq of Kwara State, the statement promised to continue to safeguard all government projects located in the Local Government Area and called for quick final passage of the Bill, to ensure the early take off of the much anticipated Federal College of Education in Afon.
