Air Force Personnel Arrested in Kogi for Allegedly Transporting Illegal Firearms

Troops of the 12 Brigade, in collaboration with the National Drug Law Enforcement Agency (NDLEA), have arrested an Air Force personnel, ACM Anas Muhammed Fakai, for allegedly transporting two pump-action guns and one Browning pistol to Abuja.

Fakai, with service number 23/42603, was apprehended at Kabba Junction, Lokoja, Kogi State, around 10:22 pm on November 25, 2025.

During interrogation, Fakai claimed he was delivering the weapons to Constable Mohammed Auwal Haliru, an orderly attached to a Commissioner of Police at the Police Force Headquarters, Abuja.

He also stated that the firearms were handed to him by Inspector Paul, serving at the Government House, Benin, Edo State.

The pump-action guns and one pistol were recovered from the suspect.

Further investigation revealed that the suspect, Anas Muhammed Fakai, attended Nigeria Police Secondary School, Gusau, Zamfara State, between 2015-2019.

The suspect and exhibits are in custody, awaiting further directives, the Special Sitrep said.
