Aiyenale Fred Jimoh Thanks Supporters as Book Launch Draws Leaders, Stakeholders

By Our Reporter

Chief (Hon.) Aiyenale Fred Jimoh, author of Securing the Information Space: National Security Awareness, Digital Responsibility and Public Trust in Nigeria, has expressed profound appreciation to political leaders, community leaders, family members, colleagues, friends and other stakeholders who contributed to the success of the book launch.

Jimoh, who is also Chairman/CEO of The Global Summit Group Limited, said the event went beyond the celebration of a new publication, describing it as a demonstration of friendship, leadership, patriotism and a shared commitment to making Nigeria’s information space safer, more responsible and productive.

In an appreciation message issued after the event, the author thanked individuals and organisations that attended, supported, promoted, sponsored or contributed in various ways to the launch.

He reserved special commendation for Engr. Ben Olowodola, whom he described as a major pillar of support for the project.

According to Jimoh, Olowodola’s encouragement, personal commitment and confidence in the vision behind the book played a significant role in making the launch successful.

“Sir, you stood by me when it mattered most. You believed in the vision behind this book, demonstrated confidence in my capacity to deliver it, and supported me in ways that I will never take for granted,” he said.

Jimoh also expressed appreciation to former President of Nigeria, His Excellency Dr. Goodluck Ebele Jonathan, GCFR, who served as Chairman of the book launch but was unavoidably absent due to an urgent national engagement.

He said the former President’s goodwill, support and official commendation of the book remained a great honour and reinforced the importance of securing Nigeria’s information space as a national responsibility.

The author equally acknowledged the contributions of several prominent leaders and guests, including the President of Okun Development Initiative, Deacon Olusuyi Otitoju; former Deputy Governor of Kogi State, Arc. Yomi Awoniyi; immediate past President-General of Kabba Development Union, Engr. Emmanuel Ajibero; Distinguished Senator Sunday Karimi; Distinguished Senator Smart Adeyemi; Rt. Hon. Leke Abejide; Hon. Arc. Idris Salman; and APC Deputy National Publicity Secretary, Hon. Duro Meseko.

Others appreciated included former Speaker of the Kogi State House of Assembly, Rt. Hon. Prince Matthew Kolawole; Hon. Jethro Funsho Oni; Hon. Seyi Bello; Dr. Funsho Olumoko; Hon. Idris Rufus Oluwafemi; Dr. Femi Owolowo; Hon. Femi Victor Olubiyo; Chief Olowo Cornelius; and Publisher of Democracy Newsline Newspaper, Chief Femi Olugbemi, among others.

Jimoh also thanked his pastor, Pastor Iyun Oluwatobi, and members of the Redeemed Christian Church of God, Milk and Honey Parish, for their prayers, physical presence and support.

He extended his appreciation to his course mates at the National Institute for Legislative and Democratic Studies (NILDS), as well as the Master of Ceremonies, Hon. Segun Abereoran, popularly known as Sege Dudu, for his professionalism and effective coordination of the event.

According to him, the contributions of those who worked behind the scenes in planning, protocol, logistics, publicity, media, ushering, security, transportation and coordination were equally crucial to the success of the programme.

The author also acknowledged his family, friends, associates and colleagues who travelled to attend the launch, made donations, purchased copies of the book, promoted the event or offered prayers and words of encouragement.

Jimoh said the successful launch had further strengthened his determination to pursue the broader vision behind the publication.

He maintained that Nigeria could not secure its information space through restriction alone, stressing the need for education, responsible communication, information integrity, cybersecurity awareness, digital literacy and public trust.

He disclosed that the next phase of the project would involve wider dissemination of the book’s message through proposed educational editions for primary schools, secondary schools, tertiary institutions and postgraduate or professional learners.

He therefore called on governments, educational institutions, corporate organisations, development partners, civil society organisations and individuals to support the initiative.

He said the ultimate objective was to educate citizens, empower young people, promote responsible digital citizenship, protect public trust and contribute to a safer Nigerian information environment.

Jimoh concluded by thanking everyone who contributed to the success of the launch and urged Nigerians to collectively work towards making information an instrument of national development rather than a weapon of destruction.

“Together, let us build a Nigeria where information becomes an instrument of development rather than a weapon of destruction,” he stated.
