Allah Community Urged to Support Ododo, Reject Election-Time Politicians

The Deputy Governor of Kogi State, His Excellency Comrade Joel Salifu, has called on the people of Allah community in Ofu Local Government Area to reject politicians who only remember them during elections and to instead support the administration of Governor Ahmed Usman Ododo for meaningful development in the area.

He made the call on Saturday during the 2025 Allah Day celebration, noting that Allah is his mother’s ancestral home and expressing disappointment over the community’s long absence from government engagement.

Speaking plainly, the Deputy Governor said, “If your son is crowned, will you not come to celebrate with him? I expected more support from my people.”

He reminded the community that even before becoming Deputy Governor, he facilitated the installation of solar-powered street lights in Allah, which have improved power supply and security in the area and sorounding villages.

Comrade Salifu warned against politicians who benefited from government in the past but suddenly show interest in Allah only for political gains, stressing that such individuals do not mean well for the community.

He assured the people that Governor Ahmed Usman Ododo is committed to the development of all parts of the state and promised to present the community’s requests, including better schools, water projects, roads, and telecommunications, to the Governor.

The Deputy Governor reaffirmed that his doors remain open to the people at all times.

Earlier, the National President of the Allah Community Development Association, Mr. Philip Samson, appealed for government support in key areas and pledged stronger cooperation with the state government going forward.
