The member representing Ankpa I Constituency in the Kogi State House of Assembly, Hon. Akus Lawal, has announced plans to hold a town hall meeting with his constituents on Thursday, June 12, 2025.

The meeting will serve as a platform to present his two-year stewardship report and engage directly with members of the public.

The event, themed “Stewardship Report: Love Chats with Constituents, Observations, and Suggestions on the Way Forward”, will be held at the Akus Lawal Constituency Office, located at A2 General Hospital Road, Akus White House, Ankpa.

According to the lawmaker, the town hall meeting is aimed at fostering accountability, transparency, and citizen participation as he marks the midpoint of his tenure in the 8th Kogi State House of Assembly.

“This is another opportunity for me to meet directly with my people, hear their thoughts, and give a detailed account of my legislative activities and development projects over the last two years,” Hon. Lawal said in a statement.

“My achievements in Ankpa I would not have been possible without the support and cooperation of my constituents. I owe them this duty of accountability.”

The first-time legislator, who has been praised by observers for his proactive representation, reaffirmed his commitment to inclusive governance.

He emphasized that the meeting would provide valuable insights into the needs and expectations of the people as he enters the second half of his tenure.

“Through the understanding and encouragement of my constituents, I have been able to initiate and complete several impactful projects. As I move forward, I will remain focused on delivering visible, people-centered development,” he added.

The event is expected to attract stakeholders and dignitaries from various sectors, reflecting the growing interest in participatory governance and local representation.

Community leaders, youth groups, women’s associations, and civil society organizations have been invited to attend and contribute their perspectives to the deliberations.
