APC inaugurates Campaign Council in Kabba-Bunu, promises to deliver massive votes for the party
Ahead of the November 11 Governorship Election in Kogi State, the governing All Progressives Congress has inaugurated its campaign council in Kabba-Bunu local government area of the state.
The event was well attended by stalwarts of the party in the local government including the Director General of APC Kogi West Campaign Council, Hon. Funsho Olumoko, the Zonal Chairman of the party, Hon. Anjorin John, the Deputy Director General, Mrs Dawudu Janet and Hon. Ipinmisho Shuaibu, Special Adviser to Kogi Governor on Water Resources.
Hon. Olumoko charged the committee members to go into the nooks and crannies of the local government to preach and canvass votes from the people and assured them that the leadership of the party in the state now have a better reward system that will go through the party.
He said people should not doubt the party and its governorship candidate is formidable hence there is no need for them to dissipate unnecessary energy in looking elsewhere, pointing out that the opposition parties in the state can’t challenge the governing party in the election.
He noted that with the way men and women of goodwill are jetting out of their party to join APC, it is obvious that the opposition parties are already in distress, urging them to work with their leaders to deliver massive votes to the APC considering the remarkable achievements of the Governor Yahaya Bello to administration in the local government.
In his opening remarks, Director General, Kabba-Bunu APC campaign council, Otunba Adeniyi Olayemi commended the party faithful for their consistent readiness to work for the success of the party.
He said his responsibility is to appeal to them to join him and deliver massive votes for Ododo/Joel, for the APC to smile come November 11 in the area.
According to him, he will appeal to those that are aggrieved for whatever reason to sheath their swords as the new system have a better reward system that will appropriately compensate people and communities contributions during election.
He said the APC is a party that has the capacity to deliver on promise, pointing out that with President Bola Tinubu in Abuja, the local government and indeed the entire cannot afford to go into opposition against the federal government considering projects that Kogi is looking forward to from them.
The Executive Chairman of Kabba-Bunu, Hon Moses Olorunleke said the local government will deliver more votes to the party than before considering the people that have joined the party in the area, stressing that the rivalry between Kabba and Bunu districts is a healthy one that will produce more votes for the party.
He said the local government cannot do otherwise because they have the highest number of graded chiefs in the just concluded grading and upgrading of chiefs in the state, noting that it is the love of the administration that bringss about that.
Also Speaking, Hon Wemi Jones noted that the monumental effects of the newly established Kogi State University in Kabba when fully operational will improve the economic situation of not only the host community but the entire zone tremendously, noted that the people should not look back by voting for the party that will guarantee the steady growth of the institution to stand the test of time.
Commander Omodara said the party is formidable and that the people of Kabba-Bunu cannot allow themselves to be left out considering the goodwill of Governor Yahaya Bello towards the local government.
While the former speaker, Matthew Kolawole in his remarks urged all leaders of the party to close ranks to move the party forward, noting that he has an intel that some persons are working to make some leaders lose their units because of appointments. He warned that anyone that try it around his unit or ward may have himself to be blamed.
Hon Bode Adeyemi commended the party faithfuls for their steadfastness in working for the overall success of the party, praying that as they work, they will also partake of the benefits when the time comes
He said the process for Okunland to produce the governor of the state have started again, stressing that he convened a submit in 2019 to have a well documented agreement on who Governor Yahaya Bello will handover to in Kogi West but the leaders from the area didn’t allow it to work.
He urged the people to return home and continue to work for the overall success of the party.
Barrister Alfred Bello said that the major opposition party is dead in the state, but hel appealed to the APC structures from the ward to accommodate the people still coming to join the party.
He said they should not be afraid of their coming as they are coming onboard to add value to the governing party to secure more votes than before.
Engr. SB Bello appreciated the love with which they were received into the party, and advised that the leaders of the party need to continue to work together for the overall interest of the local government and themselves.
Highlight of the event was the oath taking administered by Barrister Boluromi Emmanuel while the Zonal Chairman, Hon Anjorin John inaugurated the campaign committees.
