APC takes campaign to more communities in Bunu land, Promises Enhanced Representations

By Sunday Ajayi – Kabba

Ahead of the Presidential and National Assembly elections scheduled to hold on the 25th day of this month in Nigeria, the candidates of the ruling All Progressive Congress in Kogi west, Kabba/Bunu/Ijumu Federal Constituency and Kabba/Bunu constituency, Hon. Sunday Karimi, Matthew Kolawole and Seyi Bello respectively have taken their campaigns to more communities in Bunu district to preach the gospel of the party’s readiness to take the country to another level of development, stressing that the presidential candidate of the party, Asiwaju Ahmed Bola Tinubu is a man with robust track records that have the midas touch to turn around the tense situation in the country to a blossom economy within a short period.

The campaign train made this declaration in most of the communities visited starting from Edumo to Igbo – Bunu.

According to them, the individual candidates for the various political offices are personalities that have the genuineness to render selfless service to the people and humanity, pointing out that Hon Sunday Karimi’s performances while he held sway as the representative of Yagba people in the House of Reps between 2011 and 2019 still remain a reference point in the area, while Matthew Kolawole as a two-term Speaker of the Kogi State House of Assembly possesses the cognate experience and expertise to redeem the battered image of the Federal Constituency immediately he resumes as member of the National Assembly.

They opined that Seyi Bello being a successful entrepreneur and grassroots person, will consolidate on the performance of the outgoing member of the assembly representing the area.

In his address, the Chairman of Kabba/Bunu local government area, Moses Olorunleke urged the Bunu people to continue to support and cooperate with the ruling party to achieve the needed development in the district.

According to him, Governor Yahaya Bello who is of the APC has shown to the world that he meant well for the people via his giant infrastructure development across the 21 local government areas of the state, pointing out that Kabba/Bunu is also a beneficiary of those projects like the Kabba township roads, the ongoing construction of the GYB Modern Science Secondary School in Okebukun – Bunu which cost over six hundred million, aside the regular upgrading and grading of the traditional institution in the state.

He said the administration will continue to do more especially in the area of rural roads construction which will open up the rural communities in the area, as such it will give them the opportunity of easy access to markets for their farm produce.

Most of the people who spoke on behalf of their communities urged them not to forget their electioneering promises, saying politicians often forget whatever promise they made when campaigning.

They appealed to them to make road infrastructure, electrification of rural communities, health care services as their priorities, as the areas need government attention.

Personality on the campaign train includes the Director General Kabba/Bunu/Ijumu Campaign Council, Hon. Adesayo Ismail, Deputy Director General, Kabba/Bunu, Hon. Folusho Braimo, Deputy Director General, Ijumu, Hon. Cornelius Olowo, Kabba/Bunu Coordinator for Hon Sunday Karimi for Senate, Hon Femi Owoniyi Omoga, state and local government political appointees etc.

Highlights of the campaign was the visit to the residence of late Obadofin Michael Oladele Yusuf in Kabba to condole the family over his demise a few days ago.

Community visited include, Edumo, Okeofin, Aherin, Aiyede, Ilogun, Olle and Igbo, all in Bunu land
