Leke Abejide is seeking reelection under the platform of the African Democratic Congress (ADC) to continue representing the interest of Yagba people.

The statement reads in part;

“Hon. Leke Abejide and his reelection campaign council has been reliably informed of some impending security threats.

“The campaign council is aware that Kogi State APC is compiling names of teaming and key supporters of Hon. Leke Abejide within and outside the ADC, APC and PDP, with plans to harm, intimidate, attack, kidnap and harass them.

“These intimidation and harassment are plans to use non civil ways to make election impossible and/or inconclusive, scare away our supporters, harm and disenfranchise them.

“That the Federal Government be aware of these threats and that no harm must happen to Hon. Leke Abejide and his supporters within ADC and other political parties.

“That the Federal Government and all security agencies be aware and hold Kogi APC to be responsible should any harm happen to Hon. Leke Abejide, his Reelection Campaign Council and teaming supporters.

“We assure our teaming supporters of adequate security and safety, they should not panic and feel free to peacefully carry out their democratic rights without fear.
