Appeal Court Judgement: Kogi Assembly Speaker Congratulates APC guber candidate
…urges stakeholders to close ranks to ensure victory for party in November

The Speaker of Kogi State House of Assembly, Rt Hon Aliyu Umar Yusuf has congratulated the APC candidate in the November 11 gubernatorial election, Alhaji Ododo Ahmed Usman on his victory at the Appeal Court which threw out a case instituted against his emergence by the immediate past Senator for Kogi West, Senator Smart Adeyemi.

In a press statement signed by the speaker’s Chief Press Secretary, Yabagi Mohammed, Rt Hon Aliyu enjoined enjoined stakeholders in the party to close ranks and work for the victory of the party during the election.
The Speaker noted that Alhaji Ododo is a sellable candidate who is experienced enough to turn around the fortune of the citizens when elected.
He expressed gratitude to the challenger for utilising one of the tools of democracy which is to seek for redress in the law courts, urged Senator Adeyemi and other party men to forget the things that divide and embrace those that would bring everyone together for the good of the party.
The Speaker thanked the incumbent Governor, Alhaji Yahaya Bello, for creating the enabling environment for democracy to thrive in Kogi State, and applauded Alhaji Ododo Usman Ahmed for stretching hands of fellowship to political figures within and outside the party to ensure comprehensive victory for the APC in November.
Recall that the Appellate Court sitting in Abuja, on Friday, in a unanimous judgement, dismissed the case brought before it by Senator Smart Adeyemi against Alhaji Ododo Ahmed Usman of the All Progressives Congress (APC) for lacking merit.
Senator Smart Adeyemi had instituted a case against the APC candidate concerning the conduct of the primary election that produced Ododo in April, 2023.
