KANO — The Proprietor and Chief Executive Officer of a group of private health institutions in Kano, AD-COHST and AD-CONS, and former Managing Director of the Nigerian Ports Authority (NPA), Arc. Aminu Dabo, has congratulated the management, staff, parents, guardians and students of Nasara Academy, Kano, on the successful completion of the 2025/2026 academic session.

Arc. Dabo made the remarks in a goodwill message delivered on his behalf by the Head of Public Relations and Publicity of the institutions, Alhaji Abdullahi Usman, at the Academy’s 2026 Speech, Prize-Giving and Graduation Ceremony, held at the Sani Abacha Indoor Stadium, Kano, on Saturday, August 16, 2026.
The colourful ceremony, which marked another significant milestone in the history of Nasara Academy, attracted parents, guardians, members of the academic community, invited guests and students from different parts of the country.

A total of 258 secondary school students and 166 primary school pupils graduated from the Academy during the 2026 ceremony, marking an important transition in their educational journey and opening a new chapter in their pursuit of higher learning and personal development.

In his goodwill message, Arc. Dabo described the occasion as a moment of immense pride for the Nasara Academy community and the wider public, noting that the graduation of the students represented the culmination of years of hard work, discipline, sacrifice and commitment by the students, their parents and their teachers.

He said the graduation was not merely a celebration of academic achievement, but also an opportunity to reflect on the responsibilities that come with education.
According to him, the successful completion of primary and secondary education by the graduating students should inspire them to pursue higher education with determination while contributing positively to society.

Arc. Dabo also called on the students to remain worthy ambassadors of Nasara Academy and their families as they advance to the next stages of their lives. He urged them to embrace the virtues of honesty, transparency, perseverance, discipline and patriotism, stressing that academic knowledge must be matched with sound character and a strong sense of responsibility.

He commended the Founder of Nasara Academy, Prof. Ibrahim Victor, as well as the Board of Directors and management of the institution for their dedication and contributions to the academic and personal development of the students.

The former NPA Managing Director equally praised the parents and guardians for their unwavering support and sacrifices toward ensuring that their children receive quality education.
He noted that the success recorded by the graduating students was a shared achievement involving the school, parents, teachers and the wider community.
Dabo Calls for Greater Support for Private Schools
Arc. Dabo used the occasion to call on state and local governments to recognise private schools as indispensable partners in the provision of quality education.

He appealed to the authorities to create a more conducive operating environment for private educational institutions by reducing unnecessary and multiple tax burdens, which, he noted, could undermine the capacity of schools to provide affordable and quality education.
He stressed that private schools complement government efforts in educating young people and should therefore be supported rather than subjected to excessive or intrusive taxation.

The occasion was also attended by prominent personalities, including Maigirma Alhaji Sunusi Bello Makama, Ajiyan Kano, and Dr. Sani Garba Diso, Chairman of the Board of Trustees of Nasara Academy and former Special Adviser to former Kano State Governor, Dr. Abdullahi Umar Ganduje.

The ceremony featured the presentation of prizes and awards to outstanding students, alongside graduation activities celebrating the academic accomplishments of the Class of 2026.
The event ended on a celebratory note, with parents, teachers and guests commending the graduating students and expressing optimism that they would continue to excel in their future academic and professional pursuits.

For the graduating Class of 2026, the ceremony marked not an end, but the beginning of a new journey — one that will test their knowledge, character, resilience and capacity to make meaningful contributions to society.
