ARISE News Kogi Correspondent, Fredrick Odimayo, Wins Outstanding Male Correspondent Award

Fredrick Odimayo, the Kogi State Correspondent of ARISE News, has been honoured with the “Most Outstanding Male Correspondent Award” in recognition of his exceptional performance and professional excellence during the 2025 broadcasting year.

The award was announced at the ARISE News end-of-year celebration held in Lagos, where outstanding staff members from across the country were recognised for their contributions to the station’s growth and credibility.

Odimayo was singled out for his in-depth, investigative and impactful reports, particularly his consistent coverage of governance, accountability and socio-economic issues in Kogi State. His work, management noted, exemplified the core values of professionalism, balance and courage that ARISE News is known for.

Speaking shortly after receiving the award, the Kogi State correspondent expressed deep appreciation to the management and staff of the organisation for the confidence reposed in him.

“This award given to me by the ARISE News family is a call to do more in the coming year,” Odimayo said. “I sincerely thank the management, our bosses and editors in Abuja and Lagos for their guidance and for ensuring that our reports are presented to the world in the best possible way.”

He added that the support from editors and colleagues played a critical role in his success. “Without their professionalism, encouragement and constant feedback, this recognition would not have been possible. I am truly grateful to the entire ARISE News family,” he said.

Odimayo further reaffirmed his commitment to ethical journalism and public-interest reporting. “I will continue to deploy my professional skills diligently and responsibly. I remain committed to promoting good governance, transparency and development in Kogi State and beyond,” he stated.

He also expressed optimism about the future of the organisation, noting, “To my colleagues, I say thank you for your support and teamwork. I am confident that 2026 will be a better and more rewarding year for all of us.”

Management of ARISE News, while congratulating the award recipients, described the recognition as part of the station’s effort to encourage excellence, dedication and impactful journalism across its network.
