Gusau, Zamfara State — The Governor of Zamfara State has expressed deep sympathy and solidarity with the people of Dansadau and Magami communities following a tragic landmine explosion allegedly planted by armed bandits along the Mai Lamba–Mai Kogo road.

According to the Governor, the unfortunate incident claimed the lives of four innocent citizens, while several others sustained varying degrees of injuries. He described the attack as a painful reminder of the challenges posed by criminal elements in the state and prayed for Almighty Allah to grant eternal rest to the souls of those who lost their lives.

“I sincerely pray that Allah forgives their shortcomings and grants them Aljannatul Firdaus,” the Governor said, while also asking God to give their families and loved ones the strength to bear the loss.

The Governor disclosed that he has immediately directed relevant authorities to ensure that all injured victims are evacuated to nearby hospitals, where they are to receive urgent and adequate medical attention without delay. He emphasized that the state government will shoulder all necessary responsibilities to ensure the victims receive proper care.

Reaffirming his administration’s commitment to restoring peace and security, the Governor strongly condemned the act, describing it as inhumane and cowardly. He reassured residents that the government, in collaboration with security agencies, is intensifying efforts to flush out criminal elements and secure all vulnerable routes across the state.

“By the grace of Allah, this wicked act of banditry will soon become a thing of the past in Zamfara State,” the Governor declared.
He further called on residents to remain calm, vigilant, and supportive of security agencies by providing useful information that could help prevent future attacks. The Governor stressed that lasting peace can only be achieved through collective effort and cooperation between the government and the people.
The Zamfara State Government reiterated its resolve to continue investing in security measures aimed at protecting lives, ensuring safe movement, and restoring confidence among communities affected by banditry and insurgent activities.
