The Asiwaju of Ayere, Prince Olatunji Olusoji, has donated the sum of ₦10 million towards the construction of the Ogidi Ela modern Community Centre with 2500 capacity, as part of his contributions at this year’s Ogidi Day Festival.

In addition to the cash donation, Prince Olusoji also commissioned a solar-powered borehole he had earlier provided for the community, describing it as part of his commitment to improving access to clean water and sustainable infrastructure for the people.

Speaking at the event, the Asiwaju of Ayere called on the people of the community to continue supporting President Bola Ahmed Tinubu and Governor Ahmed Usman Ododo of Kogi State, noting that their leadership had continued to record notable strides in governance and development across the state and the country.

He commended the people for their unwavering support to both the Federal and State Governments, stating that such cooperation remains vital to sustaining the gains of good governance and community development.

Prince Olusoji further stated that as a chieftaincy title holder in the community, he considers it both a duty and a privilege to support the community’s development drive, adding that his philanthropic gestures were aimed at complementing government efforts at the grassroots level.

The donation and commissioning of the borehole were met with applause from residents, who lauded the Asiwaju for his continued commitment to the growth and welfare of the Ogidi community.

The Special Adviser on Youth and Student Matters, Comrade Oladele John Nihi in his remarks pointed out that Prince Olatunji Olusoji remains a blessing to humanity, saying his philanthropic activities cut across the State.

Responding on behalf of the Community, Otunba Shuaib Ipinmisho expressed appreciation to the Asiwaju of Ayere for the donations to the Community.

The Ogidi Day Festival continues to serve as a platform for community development initiatives, cultural celebration, and the strengthening of ties between traditional institutions and the people they serve.
