Kano, Nigeria — The State Chairman of APC Ambassadors across the 44 Local Governments of Kano State, Honourable Bala Salihu Dawakin Kudu, has lauded President Ahmed Bola Tinubu for his visionary leadership, particularly in appointing key Kano State leaders to prominent federal positions.
Speaking during a press conference in Kano, Honourable Bala praised the appointment of the National Chairman of the All Progressives Congress (APC), His Excellency Dr. Abdullahi Umar Ganduje, OFR, as the substantive Chairman of the Federal Airports Authority of Nigeria (FAAN) under the Ministry of Aviation. He also commended the selection of Dr. Nasiru Yusuf Gawuna, former gubernatorial candidate and current Chairman of the Bayero University Kano Governing Council, as the Chairman of the Federal Mortgage Bank of Nigeria.
“These appointments demonstrate the President’s strategic foresight and commitment to leveraging the wealth of experience and dedication of Kano State’s sons to drive national development,” he stated.
Honourable Bala expressed confidence in the ability of Dr. Ganduje to restore FAAN to its former glory, citing his history of transformational leadership. He also noted that Dr. Gawuna’s expertise and commitment come at a critical time for the Federal Mortgage Bank of Nigeria, where his leadership will undoubtedly foster innovation and growth.
On behalf of the APC Ambassadors, Honourable Bala congratulated both appointees and assured President Tinubu of the unwavering support of Kano State. “The people of Kano have always been loyal to the APC, and we will continue to support this administration with our votes and dedication,” he added.
The State Chairman further highlighted that these appointments mark a historic moment for Kano State, as it is rare to see two significant federal roles assigned simultaneously to individuals from the region. He expressed gratitude to Almighty Allah and the APC leadership for these achievements.
However, he appealed to President Tinubu to consider the appointment of His Excellency Murtala Sule Garo, fondly known as “Kwamandan Yaki,” into a high-ranking federal position. He emphasized that Garo’s exclusion from the administration so far is seen as a major oversight by the people of Kano.
“Without Garo’s appointment, it’s like tea without sugar in Kano politics,” Bala said. He stressed that Garo’s leadership resonates deeply with the youth of Kano and his inclusion would strengthen the administration’s connection to grassroots supporters.
The APC Ambassadors, with its extensive structure from the state level down to local polling units, reiterated their commitment to working closely with the newly appointed leaders. Bala called on the staff of FAAN and the Federal Mortgage Bank of Nigeria to extend their full cooperation to Dr. Ganduje and Dr. Gawuna, ensuring their success in these critical roles.
In closing, Bala urged President Tinubu to prioritize more appointments for APC members from Kano State, reinforcing the state’s vital role in the party’s success and the nation’s development.
