Bandits Strike Bunuland, Kill Two, Kidnap Scores

Bandits have attacked the Ihalé community in Bunuland, killing two people and kidnapping scores of others.

According to an eyes witness who don’t want his name in print said that the incident occurred on December 19, 2025, when armed men invaded the community, kidnapping over 10 people.

Shortly after, the bandits ambushed Olle Road, killing Mr. Williams Onimayin and Olowo Memobiayere, and abducting several others.

He noted that the number of kidnapped victims is still unknown.

This latest attack is part of a growing security crisis in the region, with communities living in fear of bandit attacks.

Meanwhile, the Executive Chairman of Kabba/Bunu Local Government Area, Barrister Dare Michael, confirmed the incident through a press statement issued by his Chief Press Secretary, John Omofa, and made available on his social media handle.

He assured residents that the government and security agencies are on top of the situation, with the rescue of the victims underway.

He said the government will not fold its hands and allow the bandits to continue to have free rein.

He commiserated with the families and communities who lost loved ones in the incident, prayed for their repose.

He pointed out that those behind the dastardly act will be apprehended.
