Abuja — In a significant demonstration of grassroots political solidarity and continued confidence in legislative leadership, the Deputy Senate President, Barau I. Jibrin, on Monday received the Chairmen of the Community Reorientation Committee (CRC) from all 13 Local Government Areas of Kano North Senatorial District at his residence in Abuja.
The delegation, led by Alhaji Ado Muhammad Danbatta, paid a courtesy visit to the lawmaker to express their appreciation for what they described as “responsive and impactful representation” at the National Assembly. The CRC chairmen, who serve as mobilizers and opinion leaders across communities, reiterated their unwavering support for Senator Barau and commended his efforts in delivering democratic dividends to the people of Kano North.
Speaking on behalf of the group, Danbatta emphasized that the senator’s performance has not only strengthened trust in governance but has also translated into tangible development initiatives across the district.
According to him, projects in infrastructure, education, and social welfare have significantly improved the quality of life for constituents.
He further called on the people of Kano North to consolidate their support for Senator Barau, urging them to rally behind his leadership in future electoral processes. “We must stand firmly behind our son, who has demonstrated capacity, commitment, and sincerity in serving our communities,” he said.
In his response, Senator Barau expressed deep gratitude to the delegation for their visit, kind words, and continued loyalty. He reaffirmed that his political journey is anchored on selfless service and a commitment to addressing the pressing challenges facing not only Kano North but also Kano State and Nigeria at large.
“I am deeply humbled by your support and encouragement,” he stated. “My involvement in politics is not driven by personal ambition, but by a genuine desire to uplift our people, strengthen our institutions, and contribute meaningfully to national development.”
The Deputy Senate President also highlighted the importance of community-based organizations like the CRC in fostering unity, civic responsibility, and effective communication between leaders and the grassroots. He noted that such engagements remain vital for inclusive governance and sustainable development.
As part of the visit, the senator was honoured with an Award of Distinction by the Kano North SSR/SR Forum, in recognition of his outstanding performance and contributions at the parliament. The award, according to the forum, reflects his dedication to legislative excellence, constituency service, and national leadership.
The Community Reorientation Committee (CRC) plays a pivotal role in mobilizing public support, promoting civic values, and bridging the gap between elected officials and local communities. Their endorsement is often seen as a strong indicator of grassroots approval and political stability within a constituency.
Senator Barau, who represents Kano North Senatorial District, has been widely recognized for his strategic influence in the Senate and his advocacy for policies aimed at economic growth, security, and social development. His position as Deputy Senate President further amplifies his capacity to attract federal presence and resources to his constituency.
The visit by the CRC chairmen underscores the growing alignment between leadership and the electorate in Kano North. As political activities gradually build toward future elections, such endorsements not only reinforce confidence in representation but also shape the broader narrative of accountability and performance in Nigeria’s democratic process.
