BARRISTER SEGUN MODEYIN TO RECEIVE PRESTIGIOUS COMMUNITY DEVELOPMENT SERVICE AWARD 2026, AUGUST 19

Renowned legal practitioner and community leader, Barrister Segun Modeyin, is set to receive the Prestigious Community Development Service Award 2026 from DEMOCRACY NEWSLINE Newspaper in recognition of his outstanding contributions to grassroots development and community service.
The award will be presented to him at the newspaper’s 16th Public Lecture and Induction into the Good Governance Hall of Fame, scheduled to hold on Tuesday, 19th August, 2026 at the Banquet Hall, National Merit House, Maitama, Abuja at 5:00pm.
The event is organized to commemorate 27 Years of Uninterrupted Democracy in Nigeria with the theme: “Economic Reform, Democracy and Sustainable Development: The Nigerian Example.”
Announcing the honour, the Publisher /Editor-in-Chief of the Newspaper, Chief Olugbemi Femi, described Barrister Modeyin as a selfless leader whose commitment to community development has impacted many lives.
“Barrister Segun Modeyin has consistently demonstrated leadership through service. His interventions in education, empowerment, legal aid, and welfare programmes have brought relief and development to communities. This award is a testament to his dedication to humanity,” Chief Femi stated.
Over the years, Barrister Modeyin has championed initiatives aimed at youth empowerment, support for the less privileged, and promotion of justice and good governance at the grassroots level.
In his response, Barrister Modeyin expressed appreciation to the board and management of DEMOCRACY NEWSLINE Newspaper for the recognition.
He dedicated the award to his community, colleagues, and all individuals working to make society better.
“This honour will spur me to do more. Community development remains the bedrock of national progress, and I remain committed to using my God-given talents and resources to serve the people,” he said.
The ceremony will also feature a keynote lecture by leading policy experts and the induction of other distinguished Nigerians into the Good Governance Hall of Fame for their contributions to democracy, leadership, and national development.
Traditional rulers, legal professionals, government officials, and community stakeholders from across the country are expected to attend the event.
