The prestigious group comprising youth leaders in Bayelsa west made the condemnation of remarks by the Kolga group, describing the claims of the group as mischievous geared towards degrading the reputation of the chief of staff for political gains.

The group addressing newsmen in Yenagoa, the Bayelsa state capital, expressed displeasure about the Kolga group remarks intended to pull down highly placed politicians in the government from Sagbama, describing it as pull-down-syndrome

According to the prestigious youth group, said the late deputy governor, Senator Lawrence Ewhrudjakpo, unfortunately, suffered same fate of propaganda and defamation from the people of Kolokuma-Opokuma.

“Senator Dickson, who hails from Toru-Orua community in Sagbama, as governor of Bayelsa, appointed illustrious Kolga sons and daughters as Accountant General, Solicitor General, Head of Service, and other top government offices, including infrastructural development.

“The people of Kolokuma-Opokuma should be thankful to the Sagbama people for the first time in the political history of Bayelsa, creating the avenue for their son, Senator Douye Diri as Reps Member, Senator, and Governor of Bayelsa state.

“If not for the tolerant, understanding nature of the former governor and the governor due to their long-lasting relationship, these divisive, malicious statements and propagandas would have created disunity between them.

“What has Sagbama, and Bayelsa west done to Kolga people. Why are they fighting and rubbishing Akpe in the same manner they run-down the image of former governor, including the late deputy governor?

“What the former governor did for the Kolga people, they should appreciate the people of Sagbama, and not the proliferation of malicious narratives as a pull-down-syndrome to create division between the governor and government officials from Sagbama.

“The people of Kolga should stop the pull-down-syndrome of leaders from Sagbama, and Bayelsa west at large-as it won’t be tolerated or condoned forthwith, as a people.

“Akpe has been working, supporting the governor and the government from inception-as deputy chief of staff, and currently, as chief of staff, rendering selfless quality services.

“As a group, we will continue to defend, support and stand with leaders from the senatorial district, which includes the chief of staff.

“The people of Kolga should rather join hands with the governor in promoting peace and unity in the state,” the group categorically stated.

The group further commended the Governor, Senator Douye Diri for appointing resourceful, hardworking individuals from Sagbama in the prosperity government as members of his cabinet, and other offices.
