An aspirant for Benue State 2027 governorship election, Arc. Anthony Ejeh Obekpa has received a royal blessings from Och’Idoma, Chief John Eliagwu at his palace in otukpo, where he declared his intention to Ochidoma on his aspiration to contest for 2027 governorship election in Benue State.
Speaking to journalists on aftermath of his courtesy to the palace, Arc. Anthony Obekpa said:
“I want to start my consultation with Idoma nation this year with major stakeholders in Idoma land and I am starting my consultation from the paramount ruler of my own nation the Idoma kingdom.
I had the honour of receiving royal blessings from the highly revered traditional stool of the Idoma Nation at the Och’Idoma Palace in Otukpo.”
“The blessings that I received today will strengthen me to continue my ambition to deliver Benue State from ugly situations we are seeing in Benue State today ”
In addition, Arc. Obekpa said his utmost agenda was total deliverance of people of Benue State from stagnation.
“The agenda I have for Benue State is total deliverance from stagnation that we experiencing now, ranging from economic, agricultural development and security which are the major problems facing Idoma land today, alot of people do not know that Idoma in the Middle Belt region of Nigeria suffers insecurity than other part of the country.
We lost more people, farms produce, and properties in Idoma land to the hensmen, banditry and kidnapping than any other state.
My key agenda is to deliver them from kidnappers and restore peace in the state.
Speaking to the people of Benue South Senatorial District, Arc. Anthony Obekpa urged them to speak in one voice as the surest way to win leadership positions in the state;
“I want the people of zone c to keep faith with this struggle because we have gone through alot, but if we continue to be divided we can never achieve this dream, I am making appeal to the zone c people to come together in one voice, because divided voices can never give us the needed positions and until we have one voice we can never achieve our aspirations. Let’s come together and speak with one voice, and that will make us achieve our dreams.”
“As I continue on this journey of BUILDING A BENUE FOR ALL, I am fully aware that the task ahead is great. That is why I do not take for granted the importance of prayers, support, and guidance from our spiritual and traditional institutions. The blessings I received today from the Och’Idoma were given with joy and encouragement, and that means a great deal to me.
I am more determined than ever to serve our people with integrity, courage, and vision. As we approach the 2026 primaries elections and look ahead to the 2027 general elections, I am confident that with your continued supports and God’s grace, we will succeed.
I believe strongly that this path has been divinely ordained, and by faith, I declare that I am unstoppable.
Thank you, and may God bless the great people of Benue State”.
